APPIANO GENTILE - "The players are ok. I thought they might be gloomy but although they were a bit down they still worked well in training - we've had three good training sessions." That was Claudio Ranieri speaking ahead of Inter v Atalanta, after the Nerazzurri were forced to wave goodbye to the Champions League.
The coach added: "Now is the time for us to turn our anger into determination, also by way of thanks to the fans, who were marvellous. Even in this negative year we'll show how good we are. We want to end the season on a high."
Ranieri was then asked what it felt like to hear the media talking about different candidates to take over in the Nerazzurri dugout: "That's Italian football for you, it's nothing new. I'm going on with my work, my professionalism is shellproof. I don't see any clouds, I'm just moving forward."
