PAOLILLO: "THE BEST POSSIBLE INAUGURATION"

"We won our first game on the new pitch with a good performance. Let's keep it up and move onto Albinoleffe"

MILAN - Nerazzurri chief executive Ernesto Paolillo spoke to Inter Channel about this afternoon's impressive win over an excellent Cesena side, played on the new main pitch at the Centro Sportivo Giacinto Facchetti.

"It's so nice to see a pitch with no fences. Having the fans this close to the players makes for a more exciting but also more serene experience," began Paolillo. "What's more, we inaugurated the new pitch with an important win and a good performance from the team - in the best way possible."

Claudio Ranieri was also in the stands and able to observe two of the players he "loaned" to Andrea Stramaccioni today: Luc Castaignos and Juan Jesus. Paolillo remarked: "They both played very well. It was great to see two players come here and show so much commitment in a Primavera match. We mustn't forget that Juan has spent a long time on the sidelines so today was a delicate match for him; he did very well. Castaignos also did very well and scored a great goal too. He came off as a precaution after taking a knock to his knee but it's nothing serious. Ranieri was delighted with the individual performances but also with the group as a whole. Before leaving he went and complimented all the players."

Finally the chief executive commented on the NextGen Series, which is coming up after next weekend's Albinoleffe fixture: "It's a prestigious showcase and seeing this team is such fine fettle gives us good reason to hope for a top performance. As for the result, we'll have to wait and see because our opponents are very tough indeed. We'll take each game as it comes, and start focusing immediately on Albinoleffe."
