MORATTI: "I CAN UNDERSTAND IT, BUT I'M NOT HAPPY"

"Understandable protests: the fans have to put up with difficult situations and they want me to know it."

MILAN – At the entrance to the Saras offices president Massimo Moratti answered questions for waiting journalists.

Read the complete version of the president's comments on inter.it:

What are Massimo Moratti feelings following Inter's defeat against Novara?

"I think that something more must be done and I hope the players still have something more to give to improve the situation. I'm convinced we can still have faith in this team, then it's up to them and to luck, so we'll battle on: we must do well from now until the end of the season, we can't let things go just like that."

How did you feel about the protests after the match?

"To tell you the truth I wasn't there. I read about them in the papers that's all, and yesterday I wasn't in Milan. But I felt them as I was reading them. People are free to express themselves, some enjoy them, some had been expecting them for some time, someone just wanted to create a fuss, however they are all permissible."

What goes through a president's mind after winning everything there was to win over the years, and then, at a difficult time like this, he is criticised?

"But that's Inter for you, Inter fans are like that as we all are when it comes to showing how attached we are to this club. It's because people get excited and they want to achieve something different. You can put up with difficult situations, but sometimes you have to get your message across. They want to make me understand that it's more difficult than it really is and they don't think I see that. I think they were afraid we were going to sell Sneijder, for example, or things like that. These are all things you have to do to get your message across. It's understandable, but naturally I'm not happy about it."

Can these protests be a stimulus to work things out over the summer?

"Stimulus never comes from protests. It comes from the will to to do well, while protests give you a very different type of stimulus."

What did you think of Gian Piero Gasperini's comments last Saturday?

"I didn't read them, to tell you the truth."

He complained about the transfers during his time in charge...

"At the right time, what class."
