A strained left quad; Alvarez returned to the group in which Juan also trained

APPIANO GENTILE – Training resumed ahead of Inter v Novara, scheduled for Sunday 12 February 2012 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in the San Siro district of Milan (15:00 kick-off), and new signing Juan underwent most of the session with the group. Ricardo Alvarez also returned to training with his team-mates at the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti; it was his first session after the strain he suffered on the eve of Inter v Palermo. Diego Forlan (4th day) and Dejan Stankovic (3rd day) continued their work with the group.

Claudio Ranieri and the coaching staff, followed by sporting director Piero Ausilio, had the team undergo a workout lasting approximately 75 minutes and consisting of an athletic warm-up, technical and tactical exercises and training games. There was a specific work-out programme for Giampaolo Pazzini. Fredy Guarin and Wesley Sneijder underwent individual recovery programmes.

As for Walter Samuel, who was substituted at halftime in Roma v Inter, he underwent medical tests and then began a recovery programme for a 2nd to 3rd degree strain to his left quadriceps.

And last, Paolo Tornaghi is still in the United States for training with the Chicago Fire, while Lorenzo Crisetig was added to the Primavera squad for the Viareggio Tournament.

Tomorrow the second session of the week will be held at the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti in La Pinetina.
