APPIANO GENTILE - "The most important thing is to stay calm and
relaxed," stated Claudio Ranieri on the eve of Inter v Palermo when asked
how the team would react after two consecutive defeats.
Then the discussion turned to the transfer market: "Do I like Guarin? Yes,
but it's still not official yet [smiling]. He's a good player with a sturdy
physique and physically very strong. He'll give us a big hand. I hope he's
ready as soon as possible. Juan? I still haven't seen him. He hasn't trained
yet. He can play in central defence and on the left flank. We'll see. However,
he's a good player."
The Nerazzurri coach was then asked if he would like to see another flank
player arrive in these last few hours of the transfer market: "If we
manage then I'll be the happiest man in the world, but if not then we'll make
do with what we have."
Finally, he touched on the Scudetto race; something to be filed away?
"It's not that I file it away, then pull it out again, then file it away
again. We're going step by step,
because the teams at the top are really flying. So if they don't slow down then
we won't make it. We're hunting for a Champions League spot."
