APPIANO: MOTTA WITH GROUP BEFORE PALERMO

The Brazilian and Sneijder with the Nerazzurri less utilised against Lecce; double session for Forlan and Stankovic

APPIANO GENTILE - Thiago Motta has returned to training with the group; this is the most important message coming out of today's training session, the first one this week ahead of the home match against Palermo, scheduled for Wednesday 1 February 2012 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza at the San Siro in Milan (kick-off at 20:45).

This morning at the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti in La Pinetina, Motta (who was absent against Lecce yesterday after suffering a blow to his left calf in the Coppa Italia match in Naples) took part in the session that lasted over 60 minutes, with the Nerazzurri players who were the least involved in yesterday's match. Wesley Sneijder also worked out with this group. The other available players underwent a regenerative session. Absent were Sulley Muntari (with Ghana for the Africa Cup of Nations) and Paolo Tornaghi (training with the Chicago Fire). After having spent the morning with his team-mates Philippe Coutinho was granted permission to travel to Spain; Inter and Espanyol are currently working out the details of the midfielder's loan move.

There were individual sessions (both morning and afternoon) for Diego Forlan and Dejan Stankovic: for both there were also the first technical exercises on the pitch.

Tomorrow morning, again in Appiano Gentile, there will be the second session ahead of Inter v Palermo. A press conference with Claudio Ranieri will be held at 13:00, which will be broadcast as a live exclusive on inter.it and Inter Channel. The players will be free in the afternoon before retiring to the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti in the evening.
