ROVERETO – "Today we were moving slowly and heavily, but we played a decent game and put some good moves together; we have to improve in the last 20 metres. When we are at the right level of fitness we'll do better, I'm sure," were Gian Piero Gasperini's first comments at the end of the friendly match against Cremonese.
"Sneijder? Today he was the sharpest player on the field and that's why I kept him on for the full 90 minutes. He's playing very well in this position, which is a plus," said the coach. Then he was asked what he had spoken about earlier with Massimo Moratti: "We were very pleased he came up today. We spoke about how the early days of pre-season training had been going and about the positive side of these days together which were fundamental in building the foundations for what we hope will be a great season. We got to know each other and understand each other better. We also got through a lot of work in these marvellous facilities and are extremely satisfied with everything. Alvarez? In the space of a few days we catapulted him into the thick of things and he showed his qualities right from day one. We're sure we've picked a winner here. What has struck me most about Inter in these early days? The enthusiasm. Lucio? He's a player we'll be relying on here at Inter."
