MILAN - Inter Primavera thrashed Mantova at the academy's Centro Sportivo Giacinto Facchetti home on Saturday afternoon to remain in the top three in Campionato Primavera Division B with three games in hand still to play.
Fulvio Pea's Nerazzurri romped to a 4-0 victory in their fourth meeting of the season with Mantova after a 1-0 win in the reverse fixture and home and away victories in the Primavera Coppa Italia.
Samuele Beretta, playing in a three-pronged attack with Alen Stevanovic and Mattia Destro, opened the scoring from a counter-attack in the 34th minute, meeting Obi's pull-back and half-volleying past Iacobucci after some brilliant approach play by his strike partners.
Inter were 2-0 up a the break with Obi winning a rebound and serving Stevanovic who fired past the Mantova keeper.
Beretta added his second and Inter's third on 60 minutes, one-twoing with Destro before firing a low angled drive into the bottom corner.
Second-half substitute Luca Tremolada set up the fourth as Obi comleted the rout six minutes later.
The big win sees Inter - who haven't conceded a single goal in their last eight games - increase their points tally to 32 ahead of their next regular season match away to Bologna on Saturday 5 March.
