KIEV - Diego Milito couldn't have chosen a better time to score his first Champions League goal for Inter. Il Principe stroked home Wesley Sneijder's assist with the Nerazzurri trailing 1-0 in Kiev with four minutes of normal time remaining. He was also involved in the move that led to the Dutchman's winner in the 89th minute.
"This is a fundamental victory," Milito told Rai Sport after the final whistle. "It was a very tough game. Dynamo play very good football, but we played a good match in the second half and we deserved to win. We had many chances to score earlier but fortunately we were lucky with our last two."
Tomorrow marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Angelo Moratti, the president of the Great Inter side. And Milito hopes the current Inter team can do its best to repeat the achievements of that magnificent side. "We are working to arrive as far as possible," he said. "It's not easy, and you could see tonight that the teams in this competition are very strong. Now we have to do well in the two difficult games against Barça and Rubin, but let's enjoy this victory for now."
