APPIANO GENTILE - Part three of Roberto Mancini's pre-Udinese v Inter news conference:
How is Hernan Crespo?
"He's fine. He could have come on the other evening but I preferred to wait and keep Cruz on the pitch. Julio should probably have come off a bit earlier, but I made this decision because the match was going well. But like I said, Crespo is fine."
And Olivier Dacourt?
"He's fine too."
Maicon has showed that he's better at attacking than defending. Have you had any second thoughts about his use?
"Absolutely not. He is a full-back who prefers to attack. He has to improve in defence. However, the full-backs didn't have much to do with the goal we conceded against Spartak because we lost a ball in midfield and they were already up and ready to support the attack. It was two against two and we conceded the goal. Maicon is prone to attacking, but this is fine with us. But this doesn't change that fact that in general we have to improve in defence."
Have you worked out what has happened in defence, where the team was very balanced last season? Is it perhaps due to the arrival of new midfielders?
"The midfielders have changed and we haven't had Cambiasso available for a while. And the full-backs have also changed. But all the goals conceded have been a bit strange. Perhaps we can talk about a real mistake against Bayern Munich. Many of the others were due to lapses in concentration. We certainly have to try and concede fewer goals."
Massimo Moratti has said that he will return to being Inter's president. What do you think about this?
"He is the owner of Inter and the only person who can fill this vacant position and become president. But it is a decision for him to make. Moratti is the owner and he always makes the decisions."
