MANCINI: "I'M NOBODY'S SLAVE"

APPIANO GENTILE - Part two of Roberto Mancini's pre-Inter v Palermo news conference:

Mancini, it has been said for the first time that perhaps the referees are fond of Inter...
"I hope the referees have always been fond of us and that they always will be in the future. We are also fond of them. We are all human beings. If we're not fond of one another..."

But can we say that Inter haven't been penalised by the referees this season?
"I think everything has been quite normal up to now."

So you don't think that Inter have had a bit more from the referees?
"Absolutely not."

Your declarations have been a bit strange lately, as if you can't say what you think?
"I'm nobody's slave. Let's clear this up: I have never been anyone's slave, like many people have been in this environment. I always say what I think in a polite and respectful manner. If they don't respect me, maybe I don't respect them, either. So I say what I think and I think it's right to say so."

Coach Cavasin made some strong declarations after the game in Treviso. Have you cleared things up?
"I don't think that what he said was right. But I can understand him because he's a coach and he might be angry about certain things after a match. I'm not angry with him."
