CUPER TO 'EL PAIS': "I'M IMPROVING MY ITALIAN, BUT I OFTEN SHOUT IN SPANISH"

MILAN - "El Pais" interview to the Argentinian coach Hector Cuper.

He has already said that Lanús' essence looks like Inter's. What's that essence you are talking about?
The space in which a person moves. You may be in a big club, but you must focus in just one part: the pitch, a dressing-room, soccer-shoes. I close myself in this world. Out of this space, the club can be very big. I have to concentrate in what's essencial for me to reach important results

How are you doing with your Italian?
I understand everything, but I've never been good in languages. I speak Italian with my players , but when I have to shout, sometimes I drop a few Spanish words.

Three of your grand-parents were Italian. Have you come back to your origins?
All Argentinians' origins are either Italian or Spanish. For example, I love Italian food, specially pasta .

Does your wife, Cintia, work?
Yes, at home. She does everything but soccer. She is just wonderful and understands how a coach's life works.

Why did you decide to live in Como, 40 Km away from Milan? Is it calm?
It doesn't depend of being calm. I lived in Buenos Aires and worked very hard as well. That's the way I work and actually makes me feel fine.

Is it true that the day before the encounter, you don't eat anything?
It's true . It's due to the intensity I live all matches.
