MILAN - Inter coach Roberto Mancini was interviewed by Rai journalist Marco Civoli for sports programme Dribbling during today's news conference:
Mancini, you're 40 years old. At least thirty of those have been spent chasing balls and many dreams, a lot of which have come true...
"It's true. If I have to be honest, almost all of them have come true. This is a very important thing."
Is there still one to achieve?
"To win with Inter."
You're fifteen points behind Juventus, but Massimo Moratti is still in football love with you. Why?
"We met many years ago when I was still a player. I have always had lots of friends at Inter and some of them also came to play at Sampdoria. Then, with Massimo Moratti, I had the chance to wear the Nerazzurri shirt as a player. It didn't happen then, but we were reunited a few months ago. The feeling with Moratti? I think Moratti is very similar to Paolo Mantovani, who was my president for many years at Sampdoria, and with whom I had an extraordinary rapport with."
Tomorrow you face Juventus and Fabio Capello, with whom you have never had a good rapport...
"There's no problem in particular. There can't always be a mutual liking between two people at the first impact. There's a considerable difference between us and we have had a few arguments on the pitch."
What's your explanation for Juventus' start to the season?
"They put together a series of victories and this has given them strength. There's no doubt that everything's going well for them at the moment."
Which players would you take away from Juventus tomorrow?
"Buffon, who is in splendid form at the moment, and Nedved."
After four months' work is Inter still a building yard?
"Despite the many draws in the championship, I'm satisfied with what has been built at Inter, the mentality with which the team faces matches and the effort the players show on every occasion. We're close the changing the not entirely positive trend in the championship."
What's the arrival point for Mancini's Inter?
"I think the moment has come for Inter to return to being the team it has always been in history - a protagonist in the championship and in Europe. We must do everything we can to make the fans, Moratti and the fans happy."
