Benfica host Internazionale for an UEFA Champions League group stage match at Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica (da Luz) on Wednesday with the visitors having already secured a place in the knockout round.

Benfica suffered a 3-1 defeat on their travels in their last group stage match against Real Sociedad. Rafa scored in the loss.

Inter defeated Salzburg 1-0 at Red Bull Arena in their last group stage match. Lautaro Martínez was the sole player to net in the win. Entering Wednesday's match, they are unbeaten in their last 10 games in all competitions (W8 D2 L0).

Inter are second in the group on 10 points. Benfica's zero points place them fourth, currently in position to be eliminated from European competition.

With 10 points, Real Sociedad are atop the group and have clinched their place in the knockout round. Salzburg are in danger of a transfer to the Europa League knockout round play-offs, sitting third on three points.

Inter won the first group stage meeting between the sides 1-0 at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on 3 October. Marcus Thuram scored the lone goal for the Nerazzurri in the 62nd minute.

Inter have got the better of Benfica of late, unbeaten in their last three matches (W2 D1 L0). Benfica are looking for their first win in games between the two clubs since April 2023. The Nerazzurri have outscored the Portuguese side 6-3 during their unbeaten streak.

Martínez has been the most prolific player for Inter, netting twice in the current Champions League campaign, including one match-opening goal. Rafa has caught the eye for Benfica in Champions League play. He is the club's leading scorer with one goal.

Hosts Benfica have lost each of their two previous Champions League contests at Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica (da Luz) this season. As Águias have a three-match home unbeaten streak (W2 D1 L0) in all competitions.

Inter have one win and one draw on the road in the competition this season in two contests. The Nerazzurri currently find themselves on a nine-match away unbeaten streak (W7 D2 L0).

In their last six matches in all competitions, Benfica have won four, drawn one and lost one. They scored 10 and conceded five over that period, scoring first in four of the six contests. They had two first-half goals, while their opponents netted four times in the first 45 minutes. Inter have won five and drawn one in their last six. They scored nine and conceded three over that period, netting first in five of the six. Most of their goals (five) came in the first half, while their opponents netted two times before the break.
