  • Both Benevento and Inter have won their first league match of the season despite finding themselves in a losing position until minute 70.
  • This will be the first match as managers in Serie A beween Filippo Inzaghi and Antonio Conte. They played 93 matches together in the Italian top-flight between 1997 and 2001 with Juventus.
  • Benevento’s Marco Sau has netted three goals against Inter in Serie A, including his first brace in the competition (in November 2012 at Meazza stadium) – only against Genoa and Sassuolo has he scored more in the competition (both four).
  • Benevento’s Luca Caldirola, who grew up in the Inter youth sector, played only one official match with the Nerazzurri: in the group stages of the Champions League in 2011/12 against CSKA Moscow, under Claudio Ranieri.
  • The most recent of Marcelo Brozovic’s two braces in Serie A arrived against Benevento in October 2017 – on that occasion he scored Inter’s last direct free kick goal on the road in Serie A.

  • Inter have won both of their Serie A matches against Benevento: 2-1 on the road in October 2017 and 2-0 at Meazza stadium in February 2018.
  • Inter have won nine of their last 11 Serie A matches against newly promoted teams (D2) – their last such defeat was back in September 2018 against Parma.
  • Benevento won against Sampdoria in their first match of the league season – they picked up only one more point in the first 19 matches of their previous Serie A campaign (four in 2017/18).
  • Inter have won their last two away league matches without conceding goal – the last time the Nerazzurri kept three clean sheets in a row on the road in Serie A was back in September 2013.
  • Inter’s manager Antonio Conte has always won his first seasonal match on the road in the Top-5 European Leagues since 2011/12 (6/6).
