TRIESTE - Inter only managed a point against Cagliari as the match finished 1-1 on neutral ground at the Stadio Nereo Rocco. Icardi bagged the opener for the Nerazzurri but Nainggolan earned a draw for the hosts.

Mazzarri shuffled his pack with his side in action just 64 hours after their match against Fiorentina. Ranocchia, Juan Jesus and Rolando made up the back three ahead of Handanovic. Pereira replaced Jonathan with Nagatomo switching to the right flank, while Kovacic joined Guarin and Cambiasso in the engine room. Belfodil came in for Palacio up top, playing alongside Alvarez.

Inter threatened early on despite a heavy playing surface at the Nereo Rocco, going close first through Nagatomo, then Guarin. They found Agazzi to be in fine form for the Rossoblu however. Belfodil tested the hosts' keeper shortly after, but to no avail. Pinilla's effort for Cagliari was soon followed by an Alvarez attempt but the first half ended goalless.

Pereira had the ball in the back of the net on the hour mark but Mr. Rocchi had already blown for a foul by Belfodil. The Algerian made way for Palacio moments later, and the Argentine tried to shake things up a bit. Cagliari followed suit by sending on Ibraimi up front. It was Inter who took the lead though, thanks to Icardi, on for Alvarez at the start of the second period. Palacio played a lovely ball to Nagatomo whose cross picked out Icardi: the forward just had to cushion the ball into the empty net for his second goal for the club.

Nainggolan levelled matters 7 minutes from time thanks to a big deflection which completely wrongfooted Handanovic. Palacio might have won it minutes later but just failed to find the target after working himself a shooting opportunity. Only a last-ditch challenge from the home side's Conti prevented Milito from nicking a winner at the death, but it ended Cagliari 1-1 Inter.
